I’ve spent my entire life immersed in music. As a touring and studio musician, music teacher, sound engineer, and music producer, I know how to make things sound their best. And as a producer, I am accustomed to working over a large range of genres. I never know if my next project will be Rap, Metal, Country or something entirely different. Being a good producer/engineer is not genre specific. It is about bringing out the very best in an artist - and knowing how to make that creation sound its very best. When I’m not in my studio, you’ll find me at an Oriole game.

No matter what genre you're in, we can produce it.

After spending over 25 years producing music and helping to develop artists to reach their true potential, I have come to one conclusion: There are no rules. There is no proven method. And everyone is as unique as the fingerprint on their thumb. So we take our time to get to know each other our clients. Find out what they need and what makes them special. We create a specific plans unique to each artist to streamline the process - calling on our years of experience to lead the way.

Award winning artists/published songwriters make better producers and engineers.
We operate in Logic Pro, at 32 bit. We use a MOTU 96k digital interface and Midas M32 digital console. Our main monitors are ADAM A7X. Our aux speakers are custom Yamaha NS10s. We also mix with Steven Slate’s VSX system. We have a full compliment of microphones in every type. We also have a full range of analog processing options and outboard gear as well.
We are comfortable with any genre. We have produced Pop, Rock, HipHop and Rap, Country, Reggae, Jazz and more. We are here to shine the best light on whatever ‘flavor’ you bring to the table. And after more than 20 years, we’re comfortable almost anywhere.
We don’t base our services on time or hours billed. We work a project until it’s done. Sometimes it’s three days, sometimes it’s three weeks or longer. We consider what we do to be art, just like you. And a track is not finished until it’s what everybody wants it to be. Yes, we try to scale this to the level of the project, in both time and cost, but there will never be the pressure of a clock here.
We also offer extensive service resources for singers. We are not only producers, but master ASCAP songwriters as well. We have an extensive library of songs we have written in all different styles. For example, almost all the songs in our portfolio here are written by us. We also custom write songs for artists to record.
And last, we’re old school producers. We don’t just make beats you can rap over - we make music, from the ground up. We have the years of experience to know when the technology is being a useful tool for creation, and when it is getting in the way of feeling and emotion. And in the end, that’s what you want - music that makes people feel something. That’s what we know how to do.
The first thing we have to discuss is who you are and why you’re here. Are you a singer that has an idea and wants to make a demo? Are you a more experienced artist looking for a polished, release-quality single? Are you a band that wants to cut a full-album? Are you a singer without a song?
Once we agree on what we’re recording - we go to work! We will figure out what tracks the artist will need to record, then where and when we can record them. In some cases, like a track for a singer, we will need to record and assemble the tracks first.
The three options for recording tracks are:
- We can record tracks at our place (we track at The Band Shoppe, in Sykesville, MD)
- You can record tracks at any studio of your choice. Or,
- The most popular option lately, for singers, has been recording yourself at home. A small setup for is really just a decent mic and headphones. It’s a pretty cheap investment. It’s convenient and you’ll have your own gear to use whenever. With any novices, we can talk you through the tech and setup, its very easy. We use an online DAW (bandlab.com), where you can record tracks and we can facilitate transferring tracks back and forth to each other.
Once we have all the tracks, we do our wizardry! After we send the almost-final product, we will give you up to two separate revisions, if there are things the artist wants to change.
Timelines vary wildly and can depend on many different factors. We can do a demo in a day (or 2-3), but our best work will sometimes take weeks, if it is a complex or large track. If it is, we keep in contact the whole time.
As far as the business goes, once we agree on what the project is - we will give you our best price. We ask for half of the total to be paid upfront (so we can begin recording and assembling custom tracks), the other half to be paid on delivery of final product.
No. We work with artists around the world. We have clients in South America, Europe and Asia and all over the US. If we decide we want to work with an artist - distance is no barrier.
They are actually super cool to work with. A little obsessed with music - but that never hurt anyone. Even though they're, let's say, not kids anymore, they really understand the ins and outs of all things music. When you work with them, you really see and hear the years of experience. They really know how to get the best performances out of an artist - kinda like your favorite teacher or coach. And after this long in 'the business,' they sure do have some stories to tell.
